While many events have been cancelled this week due to the coronavirus, there are still some small activities set to be held. 

Monday, March 16 

Community Dinner

A free community dinner is open to the public every Monday. The First United Methodist Church’s mission is to provide food and build community to make the world a better place.

Tuesday, March 17 

Wellsboro All-Inclusive Blood Screenings

UPMC Susquehanna will offer low-cost blood screenings at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital. These screenings provide important information that helps you to be proactive about your health.

Participants must consult with their physician about what test(s) may be most beneficial for them. Cash, check or credit card payment is required at the time of service. Preregistration is required for these screenings. To register or for more information, please call (570) 321-3210.

Victory for a Dime: The Fighting Comic Books of the Second World War

Victory for a Dime: The Fighting Comic Books of the Second World War showcases the vibrant, often shocking cover images that exemplified the comic book industry throughout the war years, and helped comics cement an everlasting place in American popular culture. Comic books as we know them arrived during the hungry days of The Great Depression, peddled by would-be entrepreneurs struggling to survive.

  • Where: The Gallery at Penn College, 1 College Ave., Madigan Library, Williamsport

Wednesday, March 18 

Lasagna Dinner

Trinity Episcopal Church, will hold a Lasagna Dinner. Dinner includes meat lasagna, salad, bread, beverage and dessert. Take-out is available. 

  • When: 4 to 6:30 p.m. 
  • Where: 844 W 4th St, Williamsport
  • Cost: $10.25 for adults and $5.50 for children (12 & younger) or $7.25 for lasagna only

You Mean Business Course

The Women’s Center is offering a free resume building and interviewing course to the public! Victims of domestic violence typically have little control over their finances and can miss out on job opportunities due to financial abuse. This course is designed to help land an interview and ultimately a job. The course runs every Wednesday in March.

Fox Trot 5k – Selinsgrove

Registration opens at 8 am at the Susquehanna Valley Mall in the courtyard closest to the movie theater. There will be fun Fox photo opportunities, a warm with and games for the kids and hair streaks with local Susquehanna University students.

The Comedy Shop Presents: Krish Mohan

Krish Mohan comes to Arthaus Project with his new award winning comedy show! This will also be a LIVE ALBUM RECORDING! Presented by the Comedy Shop! special guests: TBA Doors at 7pm, show at 8pm $5 online/$10 at the door! Comedian Krish Mohan explores various social, political and philosophical issues, such as war culture, immigration, economics and more with his quick wit & quirky attitude.

Spring Concert – A Dylan Oratorio

This newly commissioned work by the barrier-breaking, contemporary composer, STEVEN HACKMAN, showcases the music of Bob Dylan…with a twist. Paired with other well-known songs stylistically, and accompanied by a chamber ensemble, this concert will certainly leave you knockin’ on heaven’s door. The event will also feature a silent auction, cash bar, and gourmet snacks. Shuttle service will be provided.
