Candidate Spotlight: Metzger talks taxes, levee, drugs

Scott Metzger is seeking the Republican nomination for Lycoming County commissioner, his first run for public office.

After retiring from the county Adult Probation Office in 2018, Metzger said he hopes to work on fiscal deficiencies and bringing new jobs to the county.

“Right now the primary issue with the county is the budget,” he said. “You have to have a plan in order to have a budget.”

Metzger is a co-owner of Metzger Executive Apartments in Montoursville and a member of the National Rifle Association.

In addition to his desire to grow the county’s financial base, Metzger said employee satisfaction is low and retirements and resignations have been high in recent years.
