Young Artists Competition 2019

Sponsored by the Friends of the Symphony: young musicians meeting the eligibility requirements for this competition may compete for cash awards and the possible opportunity to perform with the orchestra.  Williamsport Symphony Orchestra’s mission is to be a cultural asset to the community by providing quality orchestral music, education, and performance opportunities for regional talent to an ever-expanding audience. Please read GUIDELINES and JUDGING PROCEDURES.  Please complete the YAC application and return it with a $20.00 non-refundable application fee, payable to Friends of the Williamsport Symphony, no later than Friday, August 30, 2019.

Good Morning Yoga Family Story Time

Halftones featuring new works by local artist and professor Tim Miller

Lycoming College’s next artist on display, Tim Miller, is a staple of the gallery space, having participated in the grand opening of Grey Art Gallery, and was the first show when we changed our name to Converge Gallery. Miller has always pushed the boundaries and experiments with new techniques and substrates when producing his art. For September we will be showcasing his “Halftones” series.

Lycoming Audubon Society monthly program

Restoring Imperiled Young Forest Communities will be presented by Lisa M. Williams, wildlife biologist – Grouse, Woodcock, Mourning Doves. In 2011, Lisa became the Game Commission Species Specialist for ruffed grouse, woodcock, mourning doves and webless waterfowl (coots, rails, snipe, moorhen, and gallinules). Her particular interest lies in the restoration and management of young forests and other early succession habitats.

United Churches Golf Tournament

UCLC’s 9th Annual Golf Tournament will be held at White Deer Heritage Course. The Golfers entry fee is $85/golfer. Foursomes are not required, individuals can be matched to a partial team. 2019 River Valley Ride

In celebration of PA Trails Month, join the Susquehanna Greenway Partnership (SGP) on September 28th for the 2019 River Valley Ride. This 10.5-mile bike ride will showcase the connected paths of the greater Williamsport Area, beginning in Montourville’s Indian Park and ending at the South Williamsport Community Park. At the end of the ride you’ll have opportunities to enjoy a frozen treat and information booths to learn more about the biking opportunities in and around Lycoming County.
