Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

An infamous tale, Sweeney Todd, an unjustly exiled barber, returns to nineteenth century London, seeking vengeance against the lecherous judge who framed him and ravaged his young wife. The road to revenge leads Todd to Mrs. Lovett, a resourceful proprietress of a failing pie shop, above which, he opens a new barber practice. Mrs. Lovett’s luck sharply shifts when Todd’s thirst for blood inspires the integration of an ingredient into her meat pies that has the people of London lining up… and the carnage has only just begun!

Lycoming College Art Gallery to unveil new exhibit by Van Tran Nguyen

The Lycoming College Art Gallery will open a new exhibit, “Paris, Orange County: The Diasporic Imaginations of Vietnam,” which will feature the works of Van Tran Nguyen. The show will open on Jan. 31 and run until Feb. 28. This exhibit is free and open to the public. “The multimedia installations in this exhibition are concerned with the experience of a person who in Vietnamese is called a Việt Kiều, which is someone who leaves Vietnam, and returns (or does not return) as an ‘overseas Vietnamese,'” said Nguyen. “I view this identity (and ultimately, my own) as a lens to explore the meaning of nostalgia in Vietnamese-American media.

2020 Heart of Lewisburg Ice Festival

Come downtown to view dozens of unique ice sculptures. Many other activities are planned for the weekend including the Polar Bear Plunge, Frosty 5K, Chocolate Festival and tour, children’s activities in Hufnagle Park and more! This year’s festival is sponsored by Evangelical Community Hospital. Look for their feature sculpture in the park, carved live on Friday, February 7th!

Lewisburg Frosty 5k – Lewisburg

This run/walk is perfect for those adventurous types looking for something healthy and fun to do in the dead of winter to battle the dreaded “Cabin Fever.” This is an “All-Weather” event. That mean we go rain, snow, sleet or ice. That’s the fun of a winter run! The course will take you around the historic and beautiful streets of Lewisburg and along the edges of the Bucknell University campus. The Frosty 5K is just one of many Winter-blues busting events held in Lewisburg on this date.
