Heroes and Horses Benefit Ride

Please join us in supporting your local Heroes and Horses Association, by participating on this important benefit ride. Heroes and Horses gives focus, direction, and meaning to the lives of many returning Vets who are fortunate enough to become involved with this program. We pair the Vets with horses to take care of…and vice versa. Ride is sponsored by the Jersey Shore post 36 American Legion Riders. Registration is at the pos. There will be a meal after the ride.

CELEBFOODIES: Famously Delicious featuring new works by Kira Hovanec

Arthaus Projects is excited to announce the opening of “Celebfoodies – Famously Delicious” a new exhibition showcasing the work of Kira Hovanec. The exhibition opens Friday, August 2nd from 6 – 9pm, and is on display until Saturday, August 31st. Kira Hovanec is an artist born and raised in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, where her love of art started at a very young age. With the technical guidance from her father, sense of wonder and whimsy from her mother and the confidence to make anything happen from her brother, Kira works to share a piece of her own world with all through her artwork.

Opioid Response Advocacy Forum

AIDS Resource and the Pennsylvania Harm Reduction Coalition have partnered to host “The Hero Initiative: Harm Reduction Educators Removing Obstacles”, a forum in response to the opioid crisis. The free training will help participants understand harm reduction principles as a substance abuse prevention tool and become advocates for policy changes in the state. Williamsport Welcomes The World

Williamsport Welcomes the World is a large vendor event that takes place in downtown Williamsport. There will be food vendors, artisans, crafters, local businesses, bounce houses, games, face painting, and much more! West 4th Street from Market to Hepburn will be shut down for people to walk around and enjoy the festivities. There will be live music in front of the CAC, as well as the City of Williamsport Police Open House in front of City Hall.

Survival Series: Beginner Backpacking

The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources will host a backpacking series.  Whether you’ve never gone backpacking before or you’d just like a few tips to improve, join park staff for this introduction to backpacking. We’ll cover the basics of equipment, considerations to make before you leave, as well as suggestions on how to plan for your trip. Please meet at the Sheary-Linn Amphitheater. Lewistock: 50 years of peace, art, & music

A special Saturday music festival to celebrate the 50th anniversary of both the Lewisburg Arts Council and Woodstock. Come enjoy live Woodstock-era music, vendors, face painting, yoga classes, and other activities, as well as plenty of food all day at Hufnagle Park. Come bring your inner (and outer) hippie, with blankets and lawn chairs, to enjoy the day!
