Clinton Township Fire Co. donates engine, supplies to devastated Kentucky fire departments

MONTGOMERY – In an act of kindness that seems meant to be, the Clinton Township Fire Company is donating a fire truck as well as supplies from area counties for fire companies in Kentucky devastated by the recent deadly tornadoes.

The 1994 Sutphen Custom Engine / Tanker has served the township well and was only just replaced over the summer. The company has been working to sell it for months with no takers.

When they learned of a fire company in Kentucky that was destroyed by the recent deadly tornadoes that struck the state, it seemed the right choice to simply donate it.

On Dec. 15 a plea went out on Facebook for donations and in only 72 hours supplies from around the region began piling in.

The fire engine, as well as a half dozen hauling trucks with supplies, will leave Friday evening to travel to Mayfield, Kentucky.
